Field Trip

Last week, I went to Brotas, a town situated in the north-west of São Paulo. We spent four days there to study astronomy but we did other outdoor activities, like rafting and trekking.

Thursday:
We take the bus at school at 8:30am to go to Brotas .
The trip last almost three hours and when we get to the Peraltas camp it was already lunch time. The monitors explained to us what the routine there (witch was like that : wake up at 8:00am, do an activity in the morning, lunch every day at 12:00am, than another activity the evening (go to the planetarium )after we have a free time, then the dinner at 7:00pm or 8:00 pm and finally we have a last activity at the night before the sleepy time).
After this we went to a distillery of cachaça, some student try it and they told that is was good but I didn’t try it. Finally we saw the stars in the planetarium and a film about the solar system at the CEU (center of studies on the universe)
Wednesday,
We wake up with the nice song of the counselors (I hate this song!). We have breakfast and next, we went to learn to the observatory, it was quite boring…
But next, we went to a waterfall, which was very intertaining and very cool! .Some of us take a bath in the waterfall. After that we come back to the CEU to learn a little bit more about the stars and we saw planets like Saturne and Jupiter.
The last day,
We did rafting. That was really amazing. The water was very cold but we didn’t care because we were enjoying the rafting a lot.
There, an instructor from the rafting place gave us all the instructions of security that were necessary. We were divided in groups of six plus one instructor.I was in a boat with 3 other girls and with a boat leader that was really nice.
The river was quite calm in some parts we have little waterfalls and we went really fast! I loved it!
I want to do it again… every one should do it once in is his life…

So I think that this fiel trip was really fun. I will remember that during a long time.
